If a merchant wishes to make API calls for their store, rather than having a partner make API calls on their behalf, they must apply for an API Partner ID, then add their Partner ID to their store's API access list. When a Partner ID is added, a partner access token for that Partner ID is generated and sent via email. This token and associated Partner ID access permissions are required in order to make API calls.
