Make fields required in checkout

Learn how to create mandatory fields in the ordering process.

With the ability to add new fields and edit many standard fields, Checkout & Registration Manager also allows you to control whether fields are required in order to complete checkout. If a buyer attempts to check out and has not entered a value or selected an option for the field, they will see an error message asking them to complete the form before submitting.

Merchants should be cautious when adding required fields to checkout as too many fields may impact the conversion rate of shoppers.

Make a field required in checkout

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.

  3. Go to Checkout and Registration Manager.
    The Checkout & Registration Manager link is under Order Settings.
  4. Go to Page Configuration.
    The Page Configuration link.
  5. From the Order tab, click the link for the page with the field you wish to modify.

  6. Under Page Sections, select the radio button next to the field you wish to make required then click the Edit button.

  7. On the bottom right, click the Next button.

  8. Select the checkbox next to Required Field.

  9. Click the Finish button.

  10. Click the Save button.

  11. Return to Store Manager and publish your Order Settings.
