The difference between a store customer and a visitor

Learn how store reporting differentiates site visitor and customers.

Article ID: SLN19273

In the store software reports, the number of page views is the approximate number of pages in your store that were viewed during a particular month, week, or day. These page views are made by visitors to your store.

The number of customers is the number of distinct individuals that visited your store during a particular period of time, regardless of the number of pages they've viewed.

However, these numbers can be inaccurate, due to browser caching and proxy-server connections to the Internet.
