UPS unavailable error handling

Learn how to handle orders made if UPS is unavailable.

In rare instances, UPS servers may be unavailable at the time of checkout. Merchants with UPS rates that have selected Calculate in real time, ok if no matching rule can decide whether to ask shoppers who have selected an official UPS shipping method, to select another shipping method, or to accept the order and tell shoppers shipping charges may be added later.

Select UPS Unavailable error handling

  1. Sign in to your My Services page.
  2. Click the Store link.

  3. Go to Shipping Manager.
    The Shipping Manager link is under Order Settings.
  4. Go to Settings.

  5. Choose to select or clear the checkbox based on the following:
    • Do not select the check box to tell shopper shipping charge may be added, and accept the order (default).
    • Select the check box to tell shopper to select another shipping method before order can be accepted.

  6. Click the Update button.
    Click the Update button.
  7. Return to Store Manager and publish your Order Settings.
