Add a PDF file

Learn how to add a PDF file to your Website Builder site.

You can embed a PDF file onto your Website Builder site by uploading the file to Google Drive (or another service). Once the file is uploaded, add the PDF viewer widget and enter the URL for the file. Note: If you upload the file to Google Drive, you will need to make the document Public in order to have it viewable to your visitors. Learn more. You will also need to switch the URL from view mode to preview mode. At the end of the URL, simply change view?usp=sharing to preview.

Add a PDF viewer

  1. From your Manage Site page, click Edit site or Site Design.
    The Edit site and Site Design links.
  2. Click the + icon at the top or bottom of an existing section. This will depend on where you want the PDF viewer to be displayed - above or below the section.
    The + icon will add a new section.
  3. On the left, select Widgets.
    Click the Widgets link.
  4. Locate the Embed a PDF here widget by clicking the left or right arrows.

  5. Click the + button to select the widget.
    Select the PDF viewer.
  6. Select if you wish to apply the original section style or your own website style.

    Note: You can see a preview of each style by mousing over the No, use original and Yes please buttons.
  7. Click the left side of new Widget section then click Edit Widget.

  8. In the Widgets window, click Parameters then enter the URL for your file into the File URL field.

  9. Click the UPDATE button.
    Click the UPDATE button.
  10. Publish when ready.
    The Publish button.
