When a visitor tries to view a page that you have deleted, they will typically encounter a generic 404 not found error. You can replace this message with friendlier directions to a new page. Similarly, you might replace the basic 401 authorization required error that occurs when a visitor enters incorrect sign in information on a password protected page with helpful instructions and contact information.

Edit cPanel error pages

1. Sign in to your My Services page.

2. Click the Hosting link.

    

   

3. Click the Error Pages link in the Advanced module.
         

4. Select the Domain for the error page you want to manage in Step 1.
   

5. Click the Show all HTTP Error Status Codes tab in Step 2.
   

6. Click the Error Page from the list you want to edit.
   

7. Edit the content for the selected Error Page. Note: You can also add tags and HTML to the page to customize the message. 
   

8. Click the Save button.
