What is SSL?
SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a security protocol that establishes an encrypted connection between a web server and a browser. This ensures that data passed between the two remains private and secure.
What is SSL Manager?
The SSL Manager is where you manage your SSL certificate after purchase. In the manager, you can assign a certificate to a Turbify-managed or custom domain and validate, reissue, and download it. The private key is also available in a ZIP file alongside the certificate.
What type of SSL certificates are available?
Turbify offers OV and EV-type SSL certificates. OV means Organization Validation and EV means Extended Validation. Learn more about OV and EV SSL certificates here. The certificates support unlimited reissuance, 99% browser compatibility, and up to 256-bit encryption.
Can I purchase an SSL certificate for a domain hosted elsewhere?
Yes. After purchasing the SSL certificate, you can assign a custom domain. You will also need to validate the certificate. Then you can download the certificate and private key, and install them with another service. Please follow the service provider's guidance to install on their platform.
Can I purchase an SSL certificate for a domain managed with Turbify?
Yes. After purchasing the SSL certificate, assign it to a Turbify-managed domain. The certificate will be automatically installed on your hosting account once it is assigned. You don’t need to validate it; Turbify will do that for you as well. Important: Your domain managed by Turbify must have a hosting account to use the SSL certificate.
Can I purchase an SSL certificate to use on a domain starter page or Website Builder?
When will my SSL certificate be issued?
SSL certificates are issued within 24 hours but may take up to 3 days. Typically, the certificates are available soon after the validation process.
How many years can I purchase an SSL certificate for?
Turbify offers 1- to 3-year certificate purchases. The certificates are auto-renewed until you cancel your subscription.
How do I install an SSL certificate?
If you have a Turbify-managed domain, you do not need to download or install the certificate; it will be auto-installed. If you assign the SSL certificate to a custom domain, you will need to download it and install it with your service provider.
