May 29th, 2024: The legacy URLs referencing yahoo.net and yimg.com have now been shut off. Any stores that still contain hard-coded references to those hostnames will see impacts that may include images or check-out not loading. If you are seeing issues in these areas, please start by reviewing your site for references to those URLs and updating them to our current hostnames.
Some features are still in progress of being updated. Please see our help page on feature availability for updated dates, where available.

As part of the Summer 2022 acquisition of Yahoo Small Business and rebranding to Turbify, we needed to work behind the scenes to technically separate from Yahoo. We anticipate many benefits as a result of this process, including improved publish speed and general performance, however, due to the customizable nature of the platform, some manual work has been required along with some temporary impact to your store features. The timeline to complete these updates has been extended. We are providing dates to complete these updates as we have them.
We updated your store to our new servers and infrastructure in late April, 2023. We have done everything in our power to make this process as painless as possible, but needed to temporarily turn off certain features while we work to configure them in our new platform. We are working quickly to bring these features back as soon as possible and are updating this article as new updates are available. Many features have already been returned.
In addition to some of the features being temporarily disabled, some DNS, HTML, and custom template updates have been required depending on your configuration and existing customization.
Important! If any needed DNS, HTML or custom template updates have not yet been completed for your store, some or all of the images may not load. See HTML references to CDN and Hard-coded References in Actions to Take for steps to resolve this.
In order to ensure there are no disruptions to your site and service, updates may have been needed to your DNS and to hard-coded URLs in your store editor or checkout manager. Publishes may also have been needed to update references to our CDN, including for images and files hosted in the store files. If those updates were needed for your store, and have not yet been done, parts of your store may be offline.
What changes may be needed are dependent on how your DNS is configured.
Some merchants or their developers have added customizations to their stores that utilized hard-coded references to hostnames for our servers. Any hard-coded references that involved the legacy Yahoo hostnames needed to be updated. As of May 29th, 2024, those legacy hostnames have been disabled.
If hard-coded references to those legacy hostnames are still present in your store, several impacts may occur. Those impacts include:
Those hard-coded references need to be updated to our current hostnames for those servers. The hostnames that need to be updated are:
Old hostname | New hostname |
*.yimg.com | *.turbifycdn.com |
order.store.yahoo.net | order.store.turbify.net |
Here are some locations where you might find hard-coded references. When searching, do a find for ‘yimg.com’ or 'order.store.yahoo.net' respectively:
Note: If you use any analytics software in Checkout that requires you specify domains to track, please add the new URL to ensure no interruption of service.
For assistance in locating and updating legacy hard-coded references, we recommend contacting a developer from our Developer Network.
For your store to move to the new Turbify CDN and Checkout, several publishes need to have been completed as follows:
Note: Publishes were required starting in mid-February 2023 to update the HTML references for the CDN, images and store files. A publish was needed again at the end of May 2023 for the checkout URL update to take effect. If you have not published since that was required, checkout should remain functional until the publish has been completed, but we recommend doing so as soon as possible.
If you are using a store theme from our Theme Manager, the only changes you would have needed to make would be to hard-coded references you have added based on the list above. We automatically adjusted for changes affecting our built-in themes, but any code you or a developer have added should have undergone a review based on this document. If that review has not been done, please consider doing one to determine what updates you may still need to do.
Our primary focus has been ensuring that your live store continues to load, and shoppers will be able to place orders, however some functionality needs additional time. Please visit our help page on Feature Availability for a full list of affected features, their status, and the timelines to bring features back for features that we are continuing to work on.
Please confirm that you have updated your software or informed your developer to utilize ‘(catalog/order/payment).store.turbifyapis.io’ as the endpoint hostname for our APIs. The previous ‘ysbapis.io’ endpoint stopped working in June, 2023. For more information on the API URLs, please visit our help page on API domain names and IP addresses.
The address your order confirmations emails are sent from have changed to orders@store.turbify.com and noreply@store.turbify.com. If you are using our Mandrill email option you will be unaffected by this change.
Because of the high level of customization our platform allows, it’s difficult to predict exactly what impact these changes might have on your store. Symptoms could include:
Developers from our network can assist you in reviewing what changes may still be required for your store. Users can be added to access your plan via the Access Manager.
