Delete and restore a business email user

Learn how to remove and restore business email accounts.

Delete a business email user

Once a business email user is deleted, you will have 45 days to restore the user before it will be permanently deleted from the system. If you wish to reassign the primary email address as an alias of another, you will need to wait until the 45 day period is over. Important: You should reassign any existing aliases you wish to keep before deleting the current mailbox that they're assigned to.

  1. Sign in to your Email Control Panel.
  2. Click the Delete icon for the user you want to delete.
    The Delete icon will be on the far right of the page.
  3. Confirm that you'd like to delete the mailbox by clicking the Delete button.

Restore a business email user

  1. Sign in to your Email Control Panel.
  2. Click the Add Email User link.
    The Add Email User link.
  3. In the Add Email User dialog:
    • Enter the new mail account's Email Address in the Select Email Address field.
    • Enter the new mail account's Display Name in the Display Name field (optional).
    • Click the Add button.
    Note that the Email Address and invitation email address are mandatory.
  4. Next, in the Add Email User dialog:
    • Confirm the primary business email address you wish to restore. Note: Do not enter an alias.
    • Click the restore link.
    Select to restore the mailbox.
  5. In the Restore Mailbox dialog, confirm that you wish to restore the mailbox by clicking the Restore button.
    Click the Restore button.
