Manage app passwords

Learn about the information you will be required to have if you wish to access your business email in a third-party program.

Article ID: SLN29264

If you wish to access your business email on third-party applications, you will need to generate an app password.  An app password can be generated for iOS Mail, Android Mail, Outlook/Office 365, and other programs. Important: If you are using the Yahoo Mail app, you will use your business email password, not an app password.

Create an app password

  1. Sign in to your business email account.

  2. Click your name on the top right. You may be prompted to sign in again.
Mobile users: Go to this link instead: https://mail.turbify.com/accountinfo.

  3. Click the Account info link.

  4. In the top left under Security & Privacy, click Manage App Passwords.

  5. From the dropdown menu, select the appropriate app.

Note: If you do not see your application, select Other, then enter the application's name.

  6. Click the Generate button.

  7. Click the Click to copy password button to copy the app password, then click the Done button.

  8. Your new app password will display on the App Passwords screen. Click Skip for now to close the window.

  9. Add your app password to your third-party application. Note: If you need to replace an old app password on your third-party application, see this Help PageTip: After you generate your app password, you may wish to make a note of it in your mobile device's Notes app, then copy/paste it into your mail settings.

Delete an app password

If you're not using an app password any longer, or believe the app password may be compromised, you should delete it. You can then create a new one and replace the old password in your third-party app.

  1. Sign in to your business email account.

  2. Click your name on the top-right. You may be prompted to sign in again.
Mobile users: Go to this link instead: https://mail.turbify.com/accountinfo.

  3. Click the Account info link.

  4. In the top left under Security & Privacy, click Manage App Passwords.

  5. Click the Remove button for the app password you want to delete.

  6. Click the Delete button to confirm removal.

  7. The app password is now deleted, and devices that used it will no longer be able to send and receive mail. To use your business email account on a mobile device or third-party app, you'll need to create a new app password.
