If you generated a new app password in order to replace a previous one, you'll need to add it to your third-party application in order to continue to send and receive messages.

Replace an app password in iOS 12

1. In Settings, tap Passwords & Accounts.
2. Tap the mail account then tap the mail account once more on the next screen.
3. Under INCOMING MAIL SERVER, enter your app password in the Password field.
   
4. Tap the SMTP server under OUTGOING MAIL SERVER.
5. Tap the SMTP server under PRIMARY SERVER.
6. Enter the app password in the Password field.
   
7. Tap Done.

Replace an app password in Android

1. In Settings, tap your mail account.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Under Account Settings tap your username.
4. Tap Password.
5. Enter your new app password then tap OK.
   

Replace an app password in Outlook for Office 365

1. Open Outlook and check for new mail.
2. You will be prompted to update your password. In the Password field, enter your new app password then click the OK button.
   

Replace an app password in Mac Mail

1. Open Mac Mail.
2. On the top-right corner, click Login Failed.
   
3. In the Can't connect to the account dialog, enter your new app password in the Password field then click the OK button.
   

Replace an app password in Thunderbird

1. Open Thunderbird. A pop-up should appear stating that your login has failed.
2. In the Login to account failed dialog, click the Enter New Password button.
   
3. Enter your new app password then click the OK button.
