Set up business email in the Google Mail app

Learn how to retrieve messages using your gmail app.

Please note that to send and receive your business email in this app, you must create an app password. Learn more.

Note: The steps below are for version 5.0.190127 of the Google Mail app.

Set up your business email on the Google Mail app

  1. Tap the Google Mail app.
    The Google Mail app.
  2. Tap your profile icon on the top-right.

  3. Tap Add another account.
    The Add another account option.
  4. Select Other (IMAP).
    The Other (IMAP) option.
  5. Enter your business email address then tap NEXT.
    Enter your business email address.
  6. On the Incoming server settings screen:
    • Username - Your full business email address.
    • Password - Your app password.
    • IMAP server -  imap.mail.yahoo.com.
    • Port - 993
    • Security type - SSL/TLS

  7. Tap NEXT.

  8. On the Outgoing server settings screen:
    • Username - Your full business email address.
    • Password - Your app password.
    • SMTP server -  smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com.
    • Port - 465
    • Security type - SSL/TLS

  9. Tap NEXT.
    Tap NEXT.
  10. Enter the name you wish to be displayed on sent messages.
    Enter your sending name.
  11. Tap NEXT.
    Tap NEXT.

Your business email account now appears under Manage accounts.

Remove your business email from the Google Mail app

  1. Tap the Google Mail app.
    The Google Mail app.
  2. Tap your profile icon on the top-right.

  3. Tap Manage accounts on this device.
    Tap Manage accounts on this device.
  4. Under your business email account, tap Remove from this device.
    The Remove from this device button.
  5. Confirm that you wish to remove the account by tapping REMOVE.
    Tap REMOVE.
