Article ID: SLN29377

Welcome to cPanel!

With cPanel, you can access your website's file manager and database, adjust SSL settings, create backups and assign FTP users. cPanel also comes with WordPress Toolkit, a quick and easy way to install and update plugins and themes and access advanced tools such as logs, debugging, cloning a website, and a lot more.

In this article, we'll review the following cPanel modules:

Tools Navigation

When you sign in to cPanel, most navigation links and tools are in the center modules, which you can rearrange by dragging and dropping:

cPanel Dashboard Modules.

Domains

cPanel Domains Module.

The Domains module is where you will find the WordPress Toolkit link (also on the left toolbar), Domains (used for subdomains), and Redirects (formally Forward).

Files

cPanel Dashboard Files Module.

The files module has a number of tools to help you manage your website's files and folders, back up your website, and grant FTP access.

  • You can view, create, delete, and upload your website's files using the File Manager. Learn more.
  • Backup all of your websites at once using cPanel Backups or backup a single site in WordPress Toolkit.
  • Automatic, daily backups and restore are available with JetBackup.
  • cPanel makes it easy to create FTP accounts and limit access to a single directory. Learn more.
  • Check how much disk space your website is using with the Disk Usage tool.

Databases

cPanel Dashboard Databases Module.

Databases are the primary components of any website in order to function. cPanel uses the MySQL database structure and phpMyAdmin to easily manage database tables.

  • In cPanel you can view current databases, create new ones and assign users to manage your database. Learn more.
  • With cPanel, phpMyAdmin is preinstalled so that you can quickly view database tables. Learn more.

Security

cPanel Dashboard Security Module.

Your website hosted with Turbify Web Hosting comes with an SSL certificate.

  • SSL certificates are configured for you in cPanel. You can also set up your own SSL certificate. Learn more.
  • Review malicious files that were automatically removed in Imunify360.

Software

cPanel Dashboard Software Module

For advanced users, cPanel offers additional PHP extensions and Pearl modules to install. You can also change your PHP version; we recommend setting your PHP version to the most current available.

Advanced

cPanel Dashboard Advanced Module

In the Advanced module, you can manage your website's index of directories and how they appear when no index file type is listed. You can also edit the message visitors see in error pages, such as 404 Not Found, and add MIME-type extensions. This module also includes the LiteSpeed Cache tool where you can scan to enable cache for all of your WordPress sites, including subdomains.

Metrics

cPanel Dashboard Metrics Module.

In the Metrics module, you can view basic website visitor analytics using Awstats, for each domain hosted with Turbify, review web server error log messages, and view the most recent pages that visitors accessed, along with their IP, as recorded in the web server log. Need to see your website's bandwidth usage? Visit the Bandwidth tool to get a clear view of the total HTTP (web) and FTP bandwidth listed by year, week and daily usage.

Turbify Tools

The Turbify Tools module has links that open common tools that are used to manage your web hosting account. If you have domains registered with us, click the Turbify Domains link to quickly manage your DNS. You can also access your email accounts and manage users in the Access Manager. A link for contacting support, help articles, and My Services is also available. Important: The link for Website Builder will take you to the editor. Only account owners should use this link to edit and publish updates. Account administrators assigned to manage your account will not be able to publish updates from this link.
